Teach me that digi technique blog hop – sketches
Hi
Welcome to the Teach me that digi technique blog hop!
.
This is gonna be a fun hop everyone because we have a little bit of
everything for you! Lissa at http://somanycrafts.com/2012/10/14/teach-me-that-digi-technique-blog-hop/ gathered a group of bloggersfor a week long hop just for
you to learn those little things that you have always wanted to know but
didn’t know how to do.
Since we didn’t want to bog you down with a
full day of tutorials, we have broken this up into a week long hop.
So if you’re starting here be sure to go back to the start.
Lissa’s tutorial is creating your own graphics, how
to make a blog button. You can read her post here: http://somanycrafts.com/2012/10/14/teach-me-that-digi-technique-blog-hop/
Jennifer McLean on Monday the 15th & Tuesday the 16th at http://www.justaddwatersilly.com
How to write the code to apply it to your blog, Jennifer has an
extensive post so we are giving you two days to be able to go through
it, and learn, she has two post as well so you can follow along without
being overwhelmed. We know how busy mom’s are and would love to have
you come back to learn how to apply that code to your blog. http://www.justaddwatersilly.com/2012/10/teach-me-that-digi-technique-blog-hop.html
Now you’re here at my post:
I make sketches for my sketch challenge group. I’ve used a couple of different methods to create sketches – and I’m going to share my favorites with you.
My all time favorite method is using my Silhouette Design Studio software. It is so easy – I just select the shapes I want, layer them appropriately, and when the sketch is to my liking, I zoom in on the sketch, turn off the grid lines and use the cool screenshot feature on my Mac to save it:
Command-Shift-4, then select an area: Take a screenshot of an area and save it as a file on the desktop
This gives me a file I can upload to my blog, to Facebook, or email.
Here’s a sketch I created this way:
My on-the-go solution, when inspiration hits when I’m not by my computer is an iPad app called doodle buddy. I like this app the best because it has templates for shapes like circles and squares (I’ll admit I can’t draw freehand and it drives me nuts if they look goofy). That’s why it’s my favorite… It’s also extremely user friendly (I find graphic software confusing so that says a lot)
So here’s me creating a sketch. I apologize for the shaky camera. I held my iPhone with one hand as I did the ketch with the other hand.
I hope you learned something! If you’d like to be involved in my sketch challenges be sure to leave a comment.
