Design Team & Digis, oh my!

Some exciting news in my post today (or at least I think so – I hope you do too)

I’ve decided, after some thought & prompting, to have a Crafty Card Gallery Design Team.   If you’ve always wanted to be on a design team, here’s your chance to apply…
This will be a low pressure and no drama design team.  Crafting is supposed to be fun and that’s my goal with this design team.

What I would expect from you:

1 post a month from the time the DT is announced through
the end of 2012 (so I would need 3 posts total – one post from you for October, November, and December).
1-3 cards for the next issue of Creations by Crafty
Card Gallery magazine (will provide details closer, but will likely need cards November/December timeframe)
Commit to one week between 1/1/13 – 3/31/13
where you do 2 posts in that week.
You can use any supplies/materials, I have no rules except have fun, and it needs to be a card…

Does this sound interesting to you?
If so, send me a photo of a card you’ve
made and your blog address so I can see your work.  You do not have to have a blog to be part of the design team.  Please provide by 9/21 as I would like to post the Design Team by 9/24 to start by 10/1.

I hope to have some Digis or other fun items for you during your term, but can’t guarantee that.
Please email your submission to craftycardgallery@gmail.com
Questions? Please email me at the address above.

And other exciting news…  My nephew is a 19 year old college student with great artistic talents.  He has decided to try his hand at creating digi’s in order to raise money to help pay for his college….  So here are the halloween digi’s he’s created.  Since he doesn’t have a blog, I’m posting these for him so that he can decide how best to sell them.  If you’re interested in the digi’s, please email him at ericowensphotography@gmail.com and he will send you a paypal invoice. He’s even willing to do custom digi’s for you – how fun would it be to have a digi of your cat or of that item you want to have a stamp for?
Here are the images:

Digis are $1 each or the whole set for $3.
And a free digi for you from him:

To download digi – right click, and save image as.
I would love to see some cards made from this digi and would love for you to give him some encouragement!

And you know no post is complete without a card – so here’s a quick (10 minutes or less) card I made with one of his digis….

Printed on cheap printer paper (forgot to change out the paper in my printer) used my copic markers, and used some cute paper I had and this never ending supply of eyelash yarn I have…  I will never finish it up!  I’m not the best colorer – I definitely need lessons… 🙂

A few things if you’re new to my blog –
Be sure to become a follower, I have lots of great stuff here!
And some shameless self promotion….

I feel the love card

Hi!
Just a quicky post –
Madison from Funky Cards blog (http://funkycards.blogspot.com/2012/09/i-feel-love-project-september-2012.html) has been doing the I Feel The Love program for a while now… I usually forget to do it…so when I saw this month’s, I decided to act since I had some leftover halloween goodies (I don’t usually have kid card ideas) from the banner hop I did for CardMonkey…

So I went up to my craft room & made a quick card (and also pulled out some halloween cards I had – I’m trying to clean up my stash of cards) and will be sending them to Madison tomorrow…

Here’s my card.

Aren’t the stickers and paper just adorable?
Super easy card & hopefully it will put a smile on someones face….
And if you want to do the same, visit Madison’s blog to learn more…

Pinterest inspired blog hop

Welcome to our Pinterest Inspired Blog Hop.

Are you addicted to Pinterest?  Do you have several boards with pins
that you said “I’ve got to try that!”?  Well here is your inspiration to
create those awesome projects you want to try but have not yet done so.
If you arrived here from Teresa-http://freshandrenewed.blogspot.com/ then you are
in the right place.  If not please start at the beginning with our
fabulous hostess Ashley ( http://thebloghopprincess.blogspot.com)

I’m a HUGE Pinterest fan, so much so, I wrote an article about Pinterest in Creations by Crafty Card Gallery (more about that later).  I typically don’t pin a lot of cards, I do more recipes & home ideas – I tend to “like” cards… So when Ashley asked me to be in the hop, I just went back and looked at my “likes”.  There were two that stood out to me  –

Here is my Pinterest inspiration:

http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/2012/01/cards-magazine-publication.html

I love this card because it’s so simple and pretty.  I love dogwoods and I love the ribbon.

thanksgiving and lawn fawn!

http://pinterest.com/pin/193162271488680439/

I love this card, I LOVE leafs (I have a ton of leaf stamps) and I think she did an awesome job of coloring…

So when I made my card I decided to challenge myself and use my heartfelt creations stamp and dies that I had bought last year at Scrapbook Expo and that I hadn’t figured out how to use.  I will give detailed instructions in the next issue of Creations by Crafty Card Gallery.

And here is my take on said inspiration:

I’ve been working on improving my photos too, and I think these came out better!

Details – copic markers, spell binders dies, heartfelt creations stamps, memento & staz on opaque ink, stampin up dimensionals & pearls and used my big shot.
