It’s my birthday blog hop! Post 3 3/13/11 evening

Hi!
Welcome to the It’s my Birthday Blog hop!  In honor of my 38th birthday… What better way to celebrate than a blog hop???

This is a rather long hop – it goes from March 12th (Saturday) to March 15th (Tuesday)…. This is post #3.

So this is my 3rd card;

Other view

I used the accordian fold method shown on the Scor-pal site – http://www.scor-pal.com/projects/Accordion%20Fold%20Card.pdf.  This card is for a co-worker and she really liked that style of card, so I thought I’d make her one…
I decided to visit JoAnn today and picked up a latte mat stack (DCWV) and the all dressed up mat stack (as much as I try to resist stacks, I love them & have to buy them)…
So all of the patterned paper is from the dressed up mat stack, and the solid paper is dcwv as well, probably from a different stack.  I wasn’t having much cricut love today, so I used some stampin up punches & pop dots & my i-rock & new fiskars birthday sentiments stamps that I bought today…

I hope you liked the card…

Of course, I have blog candy!!!  It’s a birthday celebration – there has to be candy!!!

It’s my Birthday Blog Hop – Post 2 3/13/11

Hi!
Welcome to the It’s my Birthday Blog hop!  In honor of my 38th birthday… What better way to celebrate than a blog hop???

This is a rather long hop – it goes from March 12th (Saturday) to March 15th (Tuesday)…. This is post #2.  Don’t forget, Sunday is Daylight Savings!

Be sure to come back often over the weekend, as I’ll be posting a new card every day, and I know some of the other bloggers will too!

So this is my 2nd card; I didn’t want to get out my cricut & gypsy, so I thought I’d use my Cuttlebug… Haven’t used it in a while!

Inside of the card & texture
All of the paper was from my citrus stack & then I used the cuttlebug to cut & emboss the 4 stamps.  I then colored with the firm end of my copics.  I used a sticker for the front sentiment.
If you didn’t visit on Saturday, you should visit the post & see the tulip card…  And as I post this, there were 49 comments – if that post gets 50 comments, I will add another prize!

I hope you liked the card…

It’s my birthday blog hop! Post 1 3/12/11

Hi!
Welcome to the It’s my Birthday Blog hop!  In honor of my 38th birthday… What better way to celebrate than a blog hop???

This is a rather long hop – it goes from March 12th (Saturday) to March 15th (Tuesday)…. Be sure to come back often over the weekend, as I’ll be posting a new card every day, and I know some of the other bloggers will too!

As many of you know, I’ve been away on business this past week… I had every intention of getting this card done before today, but it didn’t work out that way… In fact, I was coloring tulips on the plane on the way home from Las Vegas!!!

I love tulips; they’re my favorite flower… so when I saw this digi, I knew I had to make a card with it….  I got the digi from http://www.birdscards.com/Default.aspx?tabid=459

I’m not the best at coloring with my copics (and I only have one red marker) but I’m having fun learning…
So on to the card (which is why you’re here anyways!)

I used the following copics:YG03,YG25, B00, B02, B14, Y13, R08, clear and red spica pen
The happy birthday is a sticker that I got from Stamping Fools, the gems are jolees, and the ruby red paper was cut with my stampin up punch and the ribbon I’ve had forever (as well as the paper)

I also included this in the link up Patches of Pink
The inside of the card is from citrus stack.  I left it blank because I ordered some cool sentiment stamps – but they’re not here yet!!!
I have to share the photo of my kitty helping my make my card because I think it’s so adorable….

I hope you liked the card…

Of course, I have blog candy!!!  It’s a birthday celebration – there has to be candy!!!
I am also celebrating a couple of milestones this weekend!!!
I got to 200 fans on my facebook page:  http://www.facebook.com/CraftyCardGallery

Guest Designer ~ Jamie

Welcome to my last guest post.
I have yet another Splitcoast tutorial for you today. I guess you can say I am obsessed with the tutorials right now. This was my first attempt at this easel card. I am happy with the way it came out and it baffled my husband so that is always a plus 🙂

I used Simply Charmed for the fish and pole. I cut out the scallop and circle with my nestabilities  then embossed the circle and inked the edges of the circle. The tag is from TBBM and the Happy Birthday is from Birthday cakes.

Here is a closer view of the embossing and the fish.

Unfortunately my cold has gotten the better of my and I was only able to do this one card. I cut the base to make another so it will be on my blog once I feel better. I hope you enjoyed my projects this week and look forward to your comments and visiting my blog. http://craftygirl21.blogspot.com/

Guest Designer ~ Jamie

Welcome to my second post as guest designer this week.

I wanted to make a card using a different technique today. I decided to hand color some very cute Penny Black stamps. I love Penny Black stamps. This is a clear stamp set I bought a couple years ago. I wanted to make a male and female card. I have such a hard time making male cards. I honestly find them boring to make, lol. My wonderful husband bought me a Purple Cow paper cutter from Costco for Valentine’s Day. Never mind the flowers give me the crafty products. This paper cutter have 7 different blades and one is a perforated blade. I saw the bookmark card on Splitcoast stampers and tried making it and cutting the bookmark by hand but I did not like how it came out. So I finally got to make this card. I did not use the tutorial I just sized it the way I wanted and started the decorating.

I hand colored the stamps using my Prism colored pencils and blended with Gamsol. After it dried I used the Glossy Accents on the balloons and tie.

I cut the label from Lacy Labels then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.On the close up you can see how the Glossy Accents shines. It looks better in person.

The inside sentiment is the same as the front except I added some bling on the corners using my I*rock.

The bookmark is not perfect but that is the beauty of handmade. This was my second attempt at this bookmark card. I am improving with each try.

The male version of this bookmark card I kept very simple. I did most of the same things as the female version.

It is hard to see the Glossy Accents on the tie but it looks good in person. The label was cut from Lacy Labels and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

I hope you enjoy my cards. Any questions or comments are welcome. Stop by my blog to check out my other projects if you get the chance. http://craftygirl21.blogspot.com/
