Happy Halloween

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! Crafty Card Gallery designer Thia here, from Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station with today’s inspirational post just for YOU!
My card crafting inspiration comes from various places…and that cookie up there was part of the inspiration for my card that I’m sharing with you today…along with this month’s Crafty Card Gallery theme: trees.
Since it is Halloween, I wanted a SPOOKY TREE on my card, but I didn’t want it to be my focal point because HOW was I going to make a cute spooky tree? Then there was that Facebook post I saw of this adorable cookie from a shop in Eugene, Oregon called Cookies Cookies (so says my dear Facebook friend). Anyway…that’s when the inspiration bug HIT! And so this card came to be:
It was a bit tough gluing on the gems…they didn’t wind up in the exact spot I wanted on my ghost. But it’s still a fun 3″ card! Wouldn’t you agree?
Thanks for joining us here today! Have a fun and safe Halloween! I’ll be back with more card inspiration on the 31st of every month with 31 days! So check back here on New Years Eve day to see more of my creations! Have a Crafty Card day!

Fall Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crafty Card Gallery Fall themed blog hop!
We have 9 very talented card makers who have each designed a fall themed card.
If you’ve never done a hop before, it’s a group of bloggers that have joined together.  You hop from blog to blog using the links in each post.
Be sure to visit each of the blogs and comment on the posts.  Some of the bloggers are giving away prizes – so you want to be sure to comment so you can be eligible to win.
Be sure to read the full post because I’ll be doing a giveaway!
You’re at the first stop!
I’ve been sort of slacking in the blogging department (don’t know if any of you can relate to that)… and I wanted to have a blog hop to celebrate the fact that Crafty Card Gallery App has been in the apple store for 5 years!  I can’t believe it’s been that long – and it’s been a great time!  I’ve met a ton of cool people and had a lot of great opportunities from the App.  If you don’t know about the app – it’s an iPhone app that has cards so you can look for ideas.  You can find designers and read their blogs…
I also wanted to celebrate the app being featured in Craft Industry Today.  Sort of cool to have your app in the magazine for the Craft & Hobby Association!  I’ve been a member of CHA for a few years now and it’s been a great opportunity!
So I know you’re here for the card….
I recently went to scrapbook expo and took a watercolor class and bought these Zig Kuretake Clean Color Pens (note – much better price on Amazon than at scrapbook expo)… and I also bought a ton of other fun stuff – including some super cute stamps from Stamps by Judith & Heather.  This was my first time seeing their stamps and I loved a ton of them (so of course I bought them)!
So here’s my first attempt at using the watercolor pens & the new stamps:

Twine on the leaf that was a Lawn Fawn Die Cut – and the letters are Lawn Fawn as well….
Wink of stella on the leaves

And the leaf in the corner is on an Action Wobble…. Those are always fun!
So please be sure to follow Crafty Card Gallery on Facebook  and if you haven’t seen the app, please check it out!
I will be selecting 2 winners at random on Monday night from the comments on my blog.
Prize #1 – Free copy of Crafty Card Gallery App
Prize #2 – envelope with some mini stamps
Thanks for joining us in the hop!

October Challenge ~ “Trees”

Hi, Beth here from The Crafty Scrap Yard!

Today I’m sharing with you our current challenge for this month with the The Crafty Card Gallery design team.  For this challenge our theme is trees.
Here is my design:

For this challenge I made this gate fold card with a tree.  I really like this card as it reminds me of a tree of life.  I added small pearl embellishments to the flower blossoms on the tree and finished with a bow.  More details about this card can be found on my blog here.

Thank you, for joining me!

February Challenge ~ “Chocolate for….”??

Hi, Beth here from The Crafty Scrap Yard!
Today I’m sharing with you our challenge for this month with the The Crafty Card Gallery design team.  For this challenge our theme was wine, chocolates, cookies or sweets.  I decided to make a design around chocolates as my husband LOVES chocolate!

Here is my design:

For my card I made a box of chocolates for my husband; I will have to make sure to pick up some “real” chocolates to go along with the card so he will be able to taste the real thing!  I like the way this turned out and how much it really looks like a box of wrapped chocolate candy.  What will you be getting your special someone for Valentine’s Day?  More details about my card can be found on my blog here.
Thank you, for joining me
May you have a sweet Valentine’s Day!

Snowman Fun

Hi Crafty Card followers! Thia here, from Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station, with my post for this month. I decided to get a bit creative, instead of doing a penguin card, I did a snowman card but added a penguin aspect. My card is black and white. It’s also a shaker card…look closely at the above photo. See the clear sequins? Fun! I love shakers and I’ve been playing around with how I create mine. With this one, I stamped my base card front. I placed sequins into a bag and secured it between the card base front and my sheet with the cut out. Added snow (Lawn Fawn Die for grass which also makes great snowy hills! Added embossed dots for texture.) Added snowflake, sequins, and a bow to front. Fun card to say Snowmany Thanks on! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Designer Beth ~ December Challenge “Penguin Wishes”!!

Hi, Beth here from The Crafty Scrap Yard!
Today I’m sharing with you our challenge for this month with the The Crafty Card Gallery design team.  For this challenge our theme was Snow or Penguin. I decided to use the penguin as I have had several other challenges or hops in the past week with snow or snowflakes themes.

Here is my design:

For my card I used this cute penguin.  He’s wearing reindeer antlers a several ornaments are hanging from them.  I used some accent paper that looks like ornaments balls and finished with rhinestone jewels and sentiment.  More details about my card can be found on my blog here.
Thank you, for joining me may you have a
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
