Sketch Blog Hop 2-18-12

Welcome to another Sketch Blog Hop. Everyone has had so much fun doing these it’s turned into a regular event! The purpose of this hop is to show how all of these talented bloggers can take the same sketch and come up with totally different cards. If you’ve never used a card sketch before, give it a try! Welcome to day 2! You’re at the first stop in the hop! Grab your favorite beverage and sit back & hop along with us!
Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:

If you follow my blog normally, you know I LOVE Bo Bunny Paper, and this is some more Bo Bunny.  This is also my first Cameo Card… So here are a few photos…

I designed the card in the software program that came with the Cameo.  It’s pretty self explanatory, luckily, since I’m challenged with this type of stuff… 🙂

So I strategically loaded my paper (I do that with my Cricut too)…. And proceeded to make my first cut!
I did underestimate the weight of the card stock and ended up re-cutting (on new paper since I didn’t line it up right) the pink portions. The letters, which were on the black paper, and were tiny, I had to do a little work on a few of them but they did cut cleanly…

The pink card stock came out great on the second cut…

Making the flower.  I think there must be a tool for that – I’ll be looking online… 🙂
Much better after adding a gem & using my topic to get the edges…
I’m not a fan of itty bitty letters, but they worked out pretty well.  I don’t think I’ve ever don’t that on my Cricut…
Overall, I’m happy with the Cameo – and will definitely feel better about playing with it!  I hope you enjoyed my first card!
This is an anniversary card for my parents, this will be 44 years of marriage for them…  I’m not going to post the card on Facebook and hope that my mom won’t click the link to my blog… 🙂 They’re great parents and I’m happy to make them a card to celebrate!
Crafty Card Gallery is an iPhone app (works on iPad and iPod Touch) that is also available for Android Phones. It is a card gallery for handmade cards. You can follow great designers, and look for ideas. It’s updated monthly so there’s always new great content for you… Almost 800 cards, and growing every month!  New update should be released soon!

You can get it in the iTunes app store and the android marketplace.
Now what you’ve all been waiting for – my 750 follower giveaway…..
I will be having fabulous guest designers for the rest of February…  So what I’m going to do (to make sure they get some appreciation too)….. I will give away 3 prizes – 1) a cricut cartridge (I will post which one after I buy it), 2) a bite size body guide diet & fitness journal and some stickers & clear stamps and 3) some cuttlebug dies, stickers, embellishments & clear stamps.
All 3 winners will get a free copy of the soon to be released new iPhone app…..
How will I get my winners????
I’ll take all comments from 12/28 through 2/26 (more incentive for you to comment on multiple posts) and I’ll randomly select 3 winners from all posts  during that time. If I somehow make it to 800 followers during that time, I’ll add a few more prizes…. 🙂  So be sure to become a follower if you aren’t already!
I hope the sketch inspires you to make a card too.  If you create a card using the sketch, link it up using inlinkz.  I’ll draw a winner randomly on Wednesday 2/22 – prize will be some stickers and a clear stamp.
Link your card here!  Winner will be chosen Wednesday 2/22

  1. I love that I can cut tiny things on my Silhette… but they are hard to handle. Love the pink and black together.
