Happy Halloween

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! Crafty Card Gallery designer Thia here, from Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station with today’s inspirational post just for YOU!
My card crafting inspiration comes from various places…and that cookie up there was part of the inspiration for my card that I’m sharing with you today…along with this month’s Crafty Card Gallery theme: trees.
Since it is Halloween, I wanted a SPOOKY TREE on my card, but I didn’t want it to be my focal point because HOW was I going to make a cute spooky tree? Then there was that Facebook post I saw of this adorable cookie from a shop in Eugene, Oregon called Cookies Cookies (so says my dear Facebook friend). Anyway…that’s when the inspiration bug HIT! And so this card came to be:
It was a bit tough gluing on the gems…they didn’t wind up in the exact spot I wanted on my ghost. But it’s still a fun 3″ card! Wouldn’t you agree?
Thanks for joining us here today! Have a fun and safe Halloween! I’ll be back with more card inspiration on the 31st of every month with 31 days! So check back here on New Years Eve day to see more of my creations! Have a Crafty Card day!

Fall Trees – Shawnee

Fall is in the air and we are seeing the leaves change everywhere. I don’t have that luxury in Arizona so I live through my friends back home posting photos of the beautiful hues of yellow, orange, and burgundy.

My card is a simple style card made with the Cricut Explore Air.

The tree is from Jubilee Cricut Cartridge and is item number #M3C968. The base of the card is from the Creative Holiday Cards #M37392 Square Flourish Card. My sentiment is from CardzTV Stamps Encouraging Thoughts.

I hope you have enjoyed this fun and easy card and are having a great start to fall.

Blessings,
Shawnee

Welcome to the Crafty Card Gallery Fall themed blog hop!

If you’ve never done a hop before, it’s a group of bloggers that have joined together.  You hop from blog to blog using the links in each post.
Be sure to visit each of the blogs and comment on the posts.  Some of the bloggers are giving away prizes – so you want to be sure to comment so you can be eligible to win.
Be sure to read the full post because I’ll be doing a giveaway!
You’re at the first stop!
I’ve been sort of slacking in the blogging department (don’t know if any of you can relate to that)… and I wanted to have a blog hop to celebrate the fact that Crafty Card Gallery App has been in the apple store for 5 years!  I can’t believe it’s been that long – and it’s been a great time!  I’ve met a ton of cool people and had a lot of great opportunities from the App.  If you don’t know about the app – it’s an iPhone app that has cards so you can look for ideas.  You can find designers and read their blogs…
I also wanted to celebrate the app being featured in Craft Industry Today.  Sort of cool to have your app in the magazine for the Craft & Hobby Association!  I’ve been a member of CHA for a few years now and it’s been a great opportunity!
So I know you’re here for the card….
I recently went to scrapbook expo and took a watercolor class and bought these Zig Kuretake Clean Color Pens (note – much better price on Amazon than at scrapbook expo)… and I also bought a ton of other fun stuff – including some super cute stamps from Stamps by Judith & Heather.  This was my first time seeing their stamps and I loved a ton of them (so of course I bought them)!
So here’s my first attempt at using the watercolor pens & the new stamps:

Twine on the leaf that was a Lawn Fawn Die Cut – and the letters are Lawn Fawn as well….
Wink of stella on the leaves

And the leaf in the corner is on an Action Wobble…. Those are always fun!
So please be sure to follow Crafty Card Gallery on Facebook  and if you haven’t seen the app, please check it out!
I will be selecting 2 winners at random on Monday night from the comments on my blog.
Prize #1 – Free copy of Crafty Card Gallery App
Prize #2 – envelope with some mini stamps
Thanks for joining us in the hop!

Lovin’ My Crazy Birds

Hello friends,

Ever since I received my Tim Holtz Crazy Birds and accessories – dies/stamps; I knew I would fall in love with them. They are so adorable and super fun to play with. These Crazy Birds came in handy for this months card challenge theme; Trees. Here is my card….

Handmade mixed media card
I decided to use a tree branch from Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz die – Branch Tree -, used distress ink walnut stain with the Woodgrain embossing folder to create dimension on the branch. His wings/face are popped up for definition and I couldn’t resist to add a saying from the “Crazy Talk” stamp set – define normal – it just seemed to fit perfectly.
I just love to get in with all the craziness – the possibilities are endless.
Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!

Mini Christmas Tree Cards

Hi everyone! It’s me, Tonya and I am here to share two little cards I created for this month’s challenge. The theme this month is trees and since Christmas is just around the corner I thought I would make a couple of cards that can be added to my Christmas packages.

I started by cutting and folding a piece of 3″x6″ cardstock to make a 3″x3″ card base for each card. I used an assortment of scraps of cardstock to decorate the base.
I used Brenda Walton’s Movers and Shapers Label diecut and the Powdered Sugar Embossing folder on some of the scraps of cardstock.

I used the Treetops Cuttlebug diecut to create these Christmas trees. I inked the green one with chalk ink and added a sequin and pearl to the top of each tree. I finished off each card with a banner and a sentiment that I printed from the computer.

If you have any questions about these cards please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Sunday is awesome and enjoy creating!
